A Word from God | No Steward Can Serve Two Masters

Luke 16:13-15 KJV “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. [14] And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. [15] And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.”

Justifying Oneself

It is difficult to serve two masters. One thing to note is that Jesus said He and the Father are ONE. They are on the same page on things; we must adopt this cooperation spirit so we don’t develop two masters in our households, communities, businesses, etc.

Why is this important?

If a child loves his mother over his father or vice versa, the child will cater to one over the other. This is what Jesus meant when He said they will hate one and love the other.

Overall, we cannot serve God and serve the mammon or riches that oppose the will of God.

No Steward Can Serve Two Masters

Pharisees here this and were angry, they ridiculed Jesus. Verse fifteen is troublesome to read (depending on how you think), but Jesus said men highly esteemed among men are an abomination in the sight of God.

The majority cases, these men and women have mammon as their master, and thus cannot be true servant of God.
