1 Chronicles 4:10 KJV “10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.”
Among the sons of Judah was a man named Jabez. He was honorable, more so than his brothers. He was named Jabez because his mother bore him with sorrow. However, when he was older, he called on the GOD of Israel.
He prayed a prayer we all can pray; he said, “Oh that YOU would bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that YOUR hand might be with me; that YOU would keep me from the evil that it does not grieve me!”
Isn’t this what we all want, what Jabez prayed for; for the LORD to bless us, enlarge us, be with us, and keep us from evil so we aren’t grieved. The LORD GOD granted him that which he requested; may the ALMIGHTY grant us our desires according to HIS will also. Praise ye the LORD.
