Verse of the Day, October 13, 2019
Proverbs 12:17 KJV “He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.”
Telling a lie has its place; for instance, if you are about to be killed by a king and you pretend to be mute or mad, even lunatic mad, you are fibbing. However, you are doing so to secure your life. King David played such a role once upon a time.
Another case could be when you (as a man) believe your gorgeous wife would be taken and given to the king of a nation you’re visiting (at the expense of your life). You falsely tell everyone your wife is your sister to preserve your life.
False Witness Only Displays Deceit
These are totally different cases than declaring that you saw a man steal from another man, causing the man to go to jail just to cease on his belongings. This is why the proverb stated that those who speak the truth will always show forth righteousness.
Nevertheless, a false witness will only display deceit. Steer clear from deceitfulness, it ruins things and creates in the deceitful incongruent habits for the future.
