Verse of the Day, September 20, 2019
2 Peter 1:2-4 KJV
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
We are greeted by Peter with grace and peace; for it to be multiplied to us, through the knowledge of God and our LORD, Jesus. All of this should be given according to as His Divine Power, all things that pertain to life and godliness.
This is more readily received through the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Christ has called us to glory and virtue. We can now receive the exceeding great and precious promises.
These promises allow us to become partakers of the divine nature of the Kingdom of Heaven. They also allow us to escape the crude darkness of this world. Some of the crude darkness includes the corruption of things made to look joyous through lust.
There are plenty of examples of things in the world that look pleasant to the eyes but ultimately lead to death (Genesis 3:6, Revelation 17:6). Peter, and I admonish to be of keen awareness!
