Have Mercy Upon Me and Hear My Prayer

Verse of the Day, October 22, 2019

Psalm 4:1 KJV “Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.”

The prayer of the Psalmist petitions the Divine Sovereign LORD of Hosts to hear when we call. He is the Almighty Power of our righteousness. He has enlarged us when we were or are in distress and has abundant mercy upon us.

Therefore, we beg that He hears us, He hears our prayer. We know this is the case when we love Him and keep His commandments. Love is the key; we would hear the call of our children, and we are not righteous.

We would enlarge or set our loved ones free when they were in distress, yet we are evil. We would have mercy on our friends and hear them in their time of need all because we love them.

Therefore, the Father, being exceeding more righteous than we, will do all those things and more, being our Father!
